About two years ago I had a Japanese scalp treatment and became hooked! It is so invigorating and leaves my hair/scalp clean and shiny. They are hard to find here in Monterey so I started researching how to do it from home. You can see my how-to here but I wanted to update with this post on the best products to use.
Japanese Scalp Treatment
The real key to an At-Home Japanese Scalp Treatment is a good scrub! This Oribe and Briogeo are the only two that I found to work well. The Briogeo gives a nice icy hot vibe plus a good scrub and the Oribe has a precision applicator so you get a more even application right at the scalp. Next up I shampoo with this shampoo by Briogeo or this shampoo from R+Co.
If I have time I throw on a deep conditioning mask but if I don’t then I apply a super hydrating conditioner from just the mid-shaft down to the tips. All styling products I use for the first 24 hours I only apply to the middle of the hair to the tips. This helps my scalp stay nice and clean after the treatment.
Try this out and let me know how you do in the comments below.
