Soda pop bread or beer bread is the easiest thing to make and most likely you have all the ingredients right in your pantry! It turns out sweet or savory depending on what you use and is a dense texture. It is great with chili or as a snack smothered in nut butter and jam! I learned to make this when I was a kid and still make it to this day. This is a super easy recipe to make with your toddlers!
What you need:
1 can of soda or beer or seltzer water (I used a can of Yuzu beer)
2 cups of flour
4 tablespoons of sugar
you can also top it with whatever flavors you want! Like garlic, herb and parmesan. Or like I did crushed candied pecans ( I used California pecans by Black Bow Sweets) or toasted coconut flakes. The possibilities are endless.
Mix it all up in a large bowl and pour into a greased bread pan. Bake at 375 for 45-50 minutes.
We ran outside in the sun as it baked. For the last two weeks on quarantine, it has rained so we loved the opportunity to be outdoors!
