Must-Have Pregnancy Beauty Products
Pregnancy can be rough on the skin. I was not one of those girls that had glowing and stunning skin for nine months. It was actually quite the opposite. My skin was dry, irritated, and flaky. It took months for me to figure out what would help and then a new trimester would hit forcing me to start all over. After nine months I thought I would share with you all my 25 essential beauty products while pregnant.
Hair
Aveda Damage Remedy Daily Hair Repair – My hair grows fast naturally but pregnant it grew at speeds that could rival the Indy 500! I was getting weekly trims but my ends still remained dry. This Aveda Damage Remedy was a hair saver. A little goes a long way and I only applied it to the ends. I recommend using it morning and night for extra protection.
Bumble and bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Cleansing Oil-Creme Duo – To really help my dry hair I started using this cleansing oil by BB. Instantly my hair became softer and easier to manage.
Hair Towel – Somedays it seemed like washing my hair was the only thing I could do before getting back into bed and fighting off morning sickness. After my shower, I would just wrap my hair up and wait for it to dry. The towel helps dry hair super fast without damage and keeps hair wrapped up for mornings you just aren’t feeling it.
Body
Elemis Skin Nourishing Milk Bath – While I had to quit my hot baths at night I still liked to relax in a warm bath at night. To help my super dry skin I would add a few caps full of the Elemis milk bath. The scent is easy and the formula really helped my skin from drying out in the bath. This is great for the Winter months even when you are not pregnant!
The Organic Pharmacy Self Tan – I got so pale from being indoors all the time. But, self-tanners just didn’t work because of the scent. I found this organic option and loved it instantly for the citrusy scent and soft glow. Made with a unique Ecocert-approved DHA derived from sugar beet, the resulting color is unbelievably balanced and natural; reapply every 2 days to maintain a glow.
Elemis Japanese Camilla Body Oil – To help with my super dry skin I would apply this non-scented oil every morning and night. The texture is thick but silky it was a total skin saver on my arms and legs each day.
The Organic Pharmacy Miracle Nipple Cream – Something I didn’t know prior to pregnancy was that your nipples can get super dry and painful. This cream works wonders and will be something I continue with during breastfeeding.
Laura Mercier Body Butter – This has been in my skincare cabinet for a year now and I just started appreciating it. The super thick texture and soft scent are perfect for pregnancy. I apply it every night especially to my belly to help keep my skin soft and supple.
Face
Jade Roller – Some morning I wake up with the puffiest face or eyes. My trusty jade roller has been my best friend.
June Jacobs Sensitive Formula Mandarin Polishing Beads – Exfoliating has been difficult for me. My skin is so sensitive to everything right now but it is also dry and crusty! I found this soft polish a few months ago and now use it every other day to keep my skin from building up a layer of flakes. I keep it in the shower and use it on wet skin with heavily wet hands to keep it extra gentle.
PCA Skin Hydrating Mask – Packed with oats and cucumber this mask is a three times a week ritual for me. The scent is gentle, the texture is luxurious and the results are soft, supple, and hydrated skin.
SkinCeuticals H.A Intensifier Treatment – While I stayed away from any injectibles while pregnant Hyaluronic acid has been a must for me. My super dehydrated skin just wasn’t happy without it. You naturally produce HA so topical applications are ok– but I would recommend checking with your doctor if you are unsure about any skincare products; I did! This serum is gentle and easy to use but produces big results. I only used it at night right after I washed my face.
The Organic Pharmacy Rose Facial Spray – I used this for everything. Setting my makeup, a quick pick me up, and sealing in moisture.
Beauty By Josen SPF 50 Pregnant skin is so sensitve to sun! A great SPF is a must-have during pregnancy. I love this one not just for the high protection but it is so gentle. No stinging. No weird white cast or pilling. It sells out fast and takes forever to ship so order several if you see it in stock.
Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil – To help with moisture and to give a nice all-day glow I used this face oil. The scent didn’t bother me. It absorbs quickly and the finish is a soft all-day glow. I even packed it in my hospital bag!
Kate Sommerville Cold Cream – This gets all your makeup off, cleanse the skin, leaves it hydrated, AND leaves a glow. This cleanser by Pacifica Beauty is amazing, too!
Elemis Soothing Apricot Toner – I went through bottles of this toner. Day and night I applied this toner to my skin. Not only does it soothe the skin but keeps it hydrated as well.
Elemis Peptide4 Night Recovery Cream Oil c/o – I started using this in my third trimester when my skin needed more nutrients but wasn’t as dry as in previous months. It is a product I will keep in my routine long after being pregnant.
Elemis Pro-Collagen Hydra-Gel Eye Masks c/o – This was another item that really helped keep my puff eyes away. I would use them a few times a week at night with my PCA mask.
Follain Lip Balm c/o – My lips were another dry disaster. This lip balm was one of the few I could tolerate. It is organic, has a silky texture and the scent is just barely noticeable.
Makeup
Clarins Instant Light Lip Balm Perfector c/o – When I go out to work, dinner or to run errands I like to have a little color in my lips even if putting on a full face of makeup is too much. This lip balm has just enough color to wear with makeup or alone. Check out my review here.
By Terry Cellularose Moisturizing Cc Cream – With a smidge more moisture a light coverage and some essential nutrients this is a must-have if you have to leave the house.
Clarins SOS Primer in lavender c/o – I wore this almost daily during my third trimester. The finish is a soft glow and left my skin looking fresh.
Christie Brinkley Authentic Beauty Strobe Show Natural Glow Stick Highlighter – I struggled with getting a glow during pregnancy. My skin was dull every day! This easy-to-use highlighter has vitamin C so it helps keep skin glowing all day. Christie Brinkley beauty went out of business I think…. This Ilia highlighter stick is my go to now.
Sleep
SLIP Eye Mask – Let’s face it without sleep all the products in the world won’t help! I was really sensitive to light my first two trimesters. This mask worked wonders. It keeps out the light. The cold silk material helps soothe tired eyes and help prevent a puffy face.
