So here is a little tip for all my fellow acne sufferers…. Ice is your friend.
When you have an ugly breakout, or just had an extraction facial or peel, just think… ice, ice, baby.
I keep little mini cups in my freezer, tear the outside off, and ice away the inflammation. It really helps to massage the areas with the most inflammation and leave the non-acne skin alone. Keep in mind that you want to do this in stages. I ice on for about 3-4 minutes, then give my skin a little break and re-ice for around 3-4 minutes more. Be careful not to OVER ice! I prefer distilled water but that is just a quirk of mine. If you don’t like the feel of the ice grab some ice globes or frozen, smooth, plastic baby teether. But ice in a towel doesn’t really work since you want to massage the area and not leave the ice in one place for too long. I usually do this right after my skincare routine and before I go to bed at night.
