Shampoo // Conditioner // Mask // Styling Cream // Moroccan Oil Treatment // Dry Texture Spray // Dry Shampoo
Lately, I have been stalking the Instagram accounts of hairstylists! I really wanted to change my hair but I was super scared. So after a good two months of thinking about it, I finally took the plunge. After I was a bit unsure about how to care for my now light hair. I didn’t want it to get dry and straw-like and I knew I had to be careful because my hair is already super dry and coarse.
MoroccanOil Treatment has been in my routine for years now so when MoroccanOil contacted me about trying some of their other products I was excited. I wasn’t sure what I needed so I consulted with one of their stylists. We discussed my post-lightening fears and my worry that the colder fall weather would add to my hair drying out. After we chatted they sent over a few products to help with my concerns.
I started with the Hydrating Hair Mask. If you are on Snapchat (hautebeautyblog) with me you know I am obsessed with it. I talk about it at least once a week. I already bought three more so I never run out! One of the fears I had, when I went lighter, was dry and dull hair. This mask is infused with argan oil and helps boost shine and elasticity. Argan oil helps with hydration, anti-aging and free radical neutralizer. All things I need! For thick, coarse hair, like mine, mix about 1 pump of MoroccanOil Treatment with 1 teaspoon of the Intense Hydrating Mask for added shine and elasticity. I leave it in for around 10 minutes and give myself a facial while I wait. After I rinse it out my hair is soft and smells great.
The MoroccanOil Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner are the next things I added to my protocol. I love the smell and my hair felt super soft and clean when I am done with it. On nights I use the mask I skip the conditioner! It is color-safe and argan oil-infused. Again, I add 1 pump of oil to the conditioner to super hydrate my hair and keep it shiny and soft. My hair is coarse and a lot of conditioners tend to weigh it down— I didn’t have this issue with the MoroccanOil conditioner even when I add the oil treatment in.
The texture spray and styling cream are items I use occasionally when I am going out and need my hair to really look great. I mix a bit (half a pump) of the super hydrating oil with the styling cream before I blow it dry. The styling cream gives my hair definition and the oil helps keep my ends soft. On days that I want to restyle my blowout, I use a bit of the styling cream to help protect it and hold the style. I like that it speeds up my styling time and leaves my hair smelling great! Also, my uber frizzy/dry hair is smooth and soft after I use it!
So far my hair is still soft and shiny even after two lightning treatments at the salon. I know my new MoroccanOil obsession is the reason. One extra tip, use a half a pump of the oil treatment on your ends every night before bed. It will keep your hair super soft, hydrated, and tangle-free.
