One of the things that bugs me the most as an esthetician is disposable face wipes. They are crap for your skin and crap for the environment. These disposable wipes clog drains, our landfills, and your pores! It is estimated that over 7.6 billion pounds of wipes are disposed of in landfills each year. So why not switch up your routine and learn how to remove makeup without wipes?!
How to Remove Makeup Without Wipes
- Get a good flannel or washcloth. I LOVE these bamboo & velour! These cloths will soon become your favorite part of cleansing. Super soft, luxurious Bamboo Cloths are: Naturally hypo-allergenic, gentle on skin, and naturally antimicrobial. Just Soak the bamboo cloth in hot water to give warm steam as you gently wipe the face before/after cleansing. {machine washable with whites without bleach, air dry}
- These bamboo makeup removing pads are awesome. I use them to take off eye makeup and even apply toner.
- Agave wash clothes – One side is super exfoliating and the other gives a nice lather to any body wash. I hang it on a hook outside the shower so it fully dries between my showers.
- Sea Sponge for FACE or BODY – these are super renewable and can do several things. Use them to “dry brush” and exfoliate your skin before a shower. Then use the sponge wet on soapy skin to gently buff away dead skin cells and dirt. The minerals contained in sea sponges nourish and benefit the skin. These include calcium, magnesium, sodium, iron, zinc, and potassium. Simply rinse and hydrate.
- Konjac Sponge – We all know and love these! A vegetable root that when wet has a gentle but super effective exfoliation benefit on the skin. I use it in the shower after I washed my face and before any manual scrubs, I might use that day.
- Loofah face sponges – I started using these after I got pregnant and needed a gentle + chemical-free way to exfoliate. They work great on the face and elbow, knees!
