Fresh vegetables, flowers, and fruit make everything better!

I feel so lucky to live in one of the US’s agricultural hearts.  We get the most amazing produce for such reasonable prices.  The Tuesday Alvarado (downtown) Farmer’s Market in Monterey is a staple.  Tourists actually come just to see it.  It’s about 3-4 blocks of fresh produce, flowers, food, crafts and home goods.  Rain or shine it is there every Tuesday.  I try to go at least twice a month to stock up on vegetables and flowers.

This week I grabbed this amazing rose bouquet plus some greens and cauliflower to make soup with.

Thanks for stopping by!

There are 3 farmers markets with a 20 minute drive from me. I can spend a whole day going from one to the other and searching every inch.

I always enjoy going to Farmers Markets here in Maine, too. My oldest daughter used to help run them in New Hampshire, partly based on her master’s degree in nutrition!
