2016 wasn’t my favorite year for many reasons but here is a roundup of what I did love this year.
Clothing Trends
Gucci Mules These were everywhere and super comfy. I hope they stick around for 2017.
Valentino Rockstud Flats I was not an early adopter of this style but around Summer of 16 I finally caved and now I live in them.
Boyfriend Jeans So comfy and so flattering!
Small Crossbody Handbags From the Gucci Marmont, the YSL mini sac du jour and the Wallet On a Chain or WOC this was my favorite style this year.
TV
Gilmore Girls 2016 (!!!) I loved it… even the cliffhanger ending.
The Crown UMMM when does season 2 come out because this was my favorite binge watch all year.
Good Behavior This is such a funny and dark show. I was surprised to see Lady Mary as a low-class American girl but I like it. Seriously one of the best shows on TV right now.
This is Us Every week I cry over this show and every week I am shocked. One of the best feel good shows EVER!
Designated Survivor Such a fun thrill ride of a show.
American Housewife This is only 30 minutes but it is SO funny if you live in California. The people on there are totally people from my real life.
Movies
The Accountant I forgot Ben Affleck was a movie start until this movie.
Deadpool I laughed so hard at this movie. Comics are not always my thing but this one was fun.
La La Land So beautiful in every way.
Hell or High Water WOW. I resisted this but my husband demanded that we go. I am so glad we did. This was the most unique movie to come out in a long time.
Finding Dory A great way to revisit my childhood. Plus my childhood nickname was Dori so I have a soft spot for her AND it was based off the Monterey Aquarium that is in my hometown.
Moana I danced hula as a kid and this movie brought back so many memories from that experience.
Manchester by the Sea So beautifully done. OSCARs for EVERYONE.
Books
Superficial by Andy Cohen I love all things Andy and this cracked me up!
Born a Crime by Trevor Noah I didn’t know this guy until Andy Cohen had him on his show! His book is such a unique look at apartheid and childhood.
The Wonder by Emma Donoghue WOW! Just get this book you won’t be disappointed.
Discoveries
Blue Apron Subscription boxes are my jam and this one is by far my favorite cooking one.
